DIVING - by Hard Boat

We have booked a Weekend of Hardboat diving - 27th/28th September. This will be a Special Weekend - two days on the hardboat for just £50.00. Single days £30.00 We have also booked the Hard Boat for a single day on 31st August. (Bank holiday = 25th) The 31st will be combined with a Long Weekend of RIB diving - subsidised by the Club. Book your dives early! There will be other dates too - so keep checking your e-mails and the Diveplans Page. Mid-week Night Dives will be availble too this year. Call Mark.

DIVING - by RIB

We are about to start diving again... just waiting for the weather to ease up a little down at the coast. Both ribs are ready to go... see the Diveplan Page, Mid-week dives are also available on demand.. Call Mark or Dave to discuss.

"The Club" does what it can to organise dive holidays to exotic places... BUT even with 50 active members it is hard to get more than a few together at one time... As someone who has tried several times to do this, with about 50% success... I ask you all to consider this...

PLAN the time off work well in advance, let's all look at our diaries and select a week in. say, October, even before we know where we are going! If we have 15 people willing to travel we can then search for good destinations and deals. We can set a Budget to suit us all...

Many of you look for a "Divers Only" break in Feb/March and a "Family Holiday" later in the year. We have to note that taking children out of school is now much more difficult.. and travelling at half term increases budgets..

TRAVEL SECTION

The Club cannot resolve these issues.

I feel the club must concentrate on divers only trips when planning... Family can always come along if the destination is suitable!

At the first "Holiday Meeting" of 2003 we were joined by only 10 members of the Club... and they wanted to go to: Scilly Isles (4) Red Sea (2) Ireland (2) Scapa Flow (3) Vancouver (3) Anywhere at all (6).

Yes I know there's more than 10 votes there... some of us will go almost anywhere....

BUT there is no specific single destination that EVERYONE wants to go to!

Proposed Dates: 27th April out of Heathrow for 7 days. Top quality shore diving is assured. All aboard "The Oyster", 5th September, going to The Brothers and possibly Elphinstone and Daedalus reef (to be confirmed).
