The Diving "Season" is definitely under way!

So far we have been out on several wrecks, the Sawtooth Ledges, the good old Baggy of course, (see more pics below), Lyme Bay general areas, and we have clear water now the "May water" has gone. We really are having a long CLEAR summer! We have several new sites, some as shallow as 10m so good days for Novices. Keep checking the Dive Plan Page on the Website. We have seen some very colourful life around this year... Make this YOUR year for really getting back into Diving in the UK. We can arrange Saturday or Sunday diving as needed, providing there are enough divers to launch the RIB(s).

We have said it before, and we will say it again... we run a good tight operation in our RIBs. Just a month ago, on returning to shore the Harbourmaster we call "Big Mike" asked me if we had lost any divers!!! I said - we don't do that sort of thing - He said he had to ask - because another dive rib had dropped 2 divers in Lyme Bay - without an SMB - and they were picked up by a Fishing Boat 2 miles away. The RIB knew they had lost them but - and this is the good bit - they did not have a VHF Radio, GPS, or even Mobile Phone on board!! No licence is required for a RIB, or most boats. Just money! Careful WHO you dive with!

.

This Month's Diving Rule 1: The most important rule is that only Bona Fide Club Members may come out on the RIBs. This is a legal restriction. Proof of membership may be required by third parties.

.

...............

.

This Month's Diving Rule 2: The second important rule is that EVERY diver must carry his own delayed SMB on every dive. If you lose your buddy, you must inflate the SMB and ascend. The skipper will see the SMB and bring the RIB to you!

We continue to be the most active SCUBA Club in the area....

REMEMBER ! We have booked Hard Boat Days see the Dive Plans Page

DIVING - by RIB - Summer and Autumn 2003

We said we would be setting up TWO subsidised weekends. The June weekend was a great success, as detailed in the July newsletter. We have had several good days since. This is proving to be, so far, a really great diving season. Read more here:

Seahorse Club Dive Plans

Both weekends will have the same pattern. We will travel Thursday evening, and set up. Friday to Monday (inclusive) will be four days of subsidised RIB diving. Prepare for two good, busy, fun, adventurous, exciting, weekends.

We can set up Novice Days and Advanced Days... let Mark Horton or Dave Hall know when you want to go!

SOCIAL

When the end of the "season" looms (in October), we will propose some social activities for the colder months.... Watch this space... BUT we will dive as much as we can in the winter.

In the meantime - let's Dive!
