Mark has arranged with the staff at Vobster to sink a 19 foot boat in the dive quarry. A metal
plaque bearing the club's name, date of sinking and the club's website URL has been made
up.
The boat will be painted in the club’s colours and the plaque attached and then it will be taken to the quarry where it
will be sunk at 12 metres, near to the aircraft that is currently there. The date has been
provisionally set for Sunday 27th July. The schedule will be a morning dive followed by a BBQ
and then the sinking and a second dive later in the afternoon. This should be an interesting
day and it is hoped that there will be a good club turnout.
A DVD of the recent trip to Hurghada is now available. The cost is £5 (or £6 inc. postage).
Anyone wanting a copy can catch me at the pool or e-mail me here:  and I will put a copy
in the post.
The recent trip to Hurghada was a resounding success with all having a great week's diving
and relaxation. In all there were 23 people on the boat, either diving or snorkelling, with the
majority being club members. The diving was very easy and shallow which was suitable for
all, especially the junior members who were all newly, or about to be, OW qualified. You can
see some of the photographs of the trip here:
Phil Green has been extremely busy organising hardboat diving weekends for later this year
and next year. The response to has been very good indeed and several of these
trips are now fully booked. Further information and contact details are on the UK Diving
page:
There will be unscheduled diving most weekends at Lyme Regis and at inland dive centres
Vobster and Stoney Cove. These dives will be weather dependant and so final decisions will
be made mid week prior to the forthcoming weekend. It is recommended that you keep in
touch with the diving Officer and Rep to check what diving is planned and to confirm with
them your intention to attend.
Finally, I would like to encourage all club members to submit reports, photographs or video
footage of any dives trips you make. Reports don't have to be editions of War and Peace,
just a few sentences or paragraphs of the highlights of your day or trip, accompanied by
photos if possible, are all that is required. I will format them and post them here on the club
website for all to enjoy. Without your support we won't have anything to show, so keep the
e-mails coming in.
Please send all media to me here:
Safe diving y'all,
Steve
